A Woman Registered to Vote Tea Towel

This tea towel is based on a poster produced in 1920, designed to be placed in a window so that passers-by would know that the resident had exercised her newfound right and registered the vote.

The hope was that it would encourage others to do likewise, and it worked! By November of that same year, more than 8 million women across the country assumed their responsibility of citizenship and voted in elections for the first time.
